Art Basel Paris gathers 211 galleries, with public days scheduled for October 23–25

Global briefing

Briefings by language

Art Basel Paris is scheduled to open to the public on October 23–25 local time, bringing together 211 galleries from 41 countries and regions.

Previews took place on October 21–22; at this briefing’s early October 23 Korean publication time, the Paris public opening had not yet begun.

What the number 211 actually counts

The organizer’s dossier counts galleries, not artworks or visitors. Galeries has 183 participants, Emergence 16 and Premise 12, adding up to 211. That total alone cannot establish the number of works or growth in attendance. This is the fifth Paris edition, and the different sectors offer different ways to explore the Grand Palais.

Why the emerging section offers another perspective

Emergence presents 16 booths focused on individual artists. The organizer describes installations and work crossing several media. Euronews’ October 22 field account also covers the section and includes artist Yann Stéphane Bisso’s comments. This gives visitors a reason to examine how work occupies space, beyond browsing objects for sale. An emerging label does not guarantee artistic merit or future prices.

The fair and the city’s security situation are separate questions

Euronews reports barriers, guards and the organizer’s security plan, with comments from director Karim Crippa and visiting collector Saloni Doshi. These observations add field reporting beyond a repeated press release. They do not guarantee visitor safety or represent conditions throughout Paris. This article does not provide live protest or transport information.

Check access conditions before planning a visit

The public dates are October 23–25 in Paris. A preview invitation or access to a particular program is not the same as general admission. Programs elsewhere in the city can have separate venues and conditions. Consult the official ticket and accessibility information alongside current local notices. Remaining tickets and operational changes have not been checked here; exhibitor numbers do not prove an art-market recovery.
