Four days on a bicycle: Bottas reaches Singapore after roughly 420 km
F 1 driver Valtteri Bottas reached Singapore on 7 October after cycling 419.67 km from Malaysia over four days.
That is the total of his chosen multi-day journey, not a one-day distance record or the shortest route between the destinations.
Travel between events became a bicycle journey
Ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, Bottas chose a bicycle instead of a short flight. Formula 1 published his account and interview on 8 October. The Straits Times independently confirmed his arrival on the seventh after more than 419 km over four days, while Brazil’s Globo covered the roughly 420 km trip. This was travel on roads and gravel, not distance covered in an F 1 car.
How the distance was spread out
The official account gives 56.60 km for the first evening and 161.91 km the next day, via Malacca to Muar. He rode about 161 km on the third day before reaching Singapore on the final day. Rounding 419.67 km gives roughly 420 km. The figure is not a straight-line distance or a shortest-road recommendation: it includes the route he actually selected along the way.

Planning and experience matter to the story
Bottas said he planned the daily distances and recovery for the race weekend, and that long rides were familiar to him. That background helps explain how he approached four days of cycling. His description of becoming accustomed to the heat is a personal assessment, not evidence of improved racing performance. The trip was not announced as a certified cycling world record or an official race result.
An interesting journey is not a safety itinerary
Reports mention night riding and wildlife, but those episodes are not presented here as activities to copy. The coverage does not provide a complete account of support arrangements, border requirements or which roads permit bicycles. The illustration combines a coast and skyline conceptually rather than reproducing his route. Readers can consult the original F 1 interview and arrival reporting; any real travel plan needs separate local transport and immigration guidance.
