Iran beats France 3-1 to win the Men’s U17 Volleyball World Championship for the first time
Iran won its first world title in this age group, beating France 3-1 in the final of the 2026 FIVB Men’s U17 World Championships in Doha, Qatar. The set scores were 25-18, 25-15, 22-25, 25-12 and Iran won all seven matches of the tournament.
This does not mean that it is the first world championship win for Iran’s senior national team or the first win for any youth age group. This was the record from the second competition of the men’s under-17 competition, with France taking silver and Brazil taking bronze.
How was the final flow?
Iran took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-15. France took the third set 25-22, but Iran ended the fourth 25-12. The four set numbers from the official match results, host country Qatar News Agency, and French Volleyball Association data all match.
Who led the scoring?
Iran’s Sheena Hazrati scored 19 points, Arash Ashrafi 17 points and Azban Namazi 16 points. France’s Bonnard scored 22 points, the most for both teams. Individual scores do not mean that only one player wins, but are the result of setter distribution, blocking, and defense.

What was the path to victory in the 7th match?
Iran passed the group stage with a clean sweep and then beat Chinese Taipei 3-0 in the round of 16. They beat Pakistan 3-2 in the quarterfinals and defeated Argentina 3-0 in the semifinals. They haven’t lost a single game in seven games, including the final.
What is the scope of competition records?
The Men’s U17 World Championships are a biennial event starting in 2024. The 2026 edition was the second edition and was held in Doha. Therefore, it is true that it is ‘the first Iranian U17 championship in history’, but it should not be combined with the old records of the adult, U19, and U21 world championships.
What is the next confirmation
Youth performance does not automatically guarantee senior national team success. Players’ advancement to the next international competition and the development of national teams by age group must be looked at separately. Official final standings and match records will remain available on the Volleyball World Schedule and Results page.
